Snabbschakt Goes Electric with the XCMG XE270

Entrack visited Snabbschakt in Gothenburg to follow the work on the company’s new electric XCMG XE270 and the adaptation of the machine for Swedish conditions. Here, we summarize some of the most important aspects of this customer case study. At the bottom of the page, you’ll find a link to the full report on Entrack.

Gothenburg-based Snabbschakt is actively working to reduce its use of fossil fuels and is gradually upgrading its fleet of machinery. One of the company’s latest investments is an XCMG XE270, an electric excavator in the 32-metric-ton class.

When the machine arrived in Sweden, it turned out that the belt plates delivered from the factory were not suited for the conditions in which the machine was to operate.

“The machine came with track plates that were too narrow for our needs,” says Rikhard Röhse, foreman and machine supervisor at Snabbschakt.

The solution was an upgraded undercarriage with NTP chains and track plates from Entrack.

The Right Chassis for the Job

Rikhard Röhse has extensive experience in the construction industry and had previously had positive experiences with Entrack and its range of undercarriage products.

– I’ve had good experiences with Entrack in the past and knew we’d quickly get a solution we could rely on.

Thanks to the quick delivery, the machine could be customized without any unnecessary delays.

When Elvate visited Snabbschakt, the final adjustments were being made in preparation for the start of production. To ensure that the machine was operating optimally, a technician from XCMG in China was on site in Gothenburg.

After a test drive and some adjustments, Rikhard was pleased with the result.

– Now it's working as it should.

Ready for Production

For Snabbschakt, this investment is another step toward a more sustainable business without compromising on capacity, performance, or productivity.

“The machine is in line with our environmental policy of reducing fossil fuel consumption while offering efficient, high-capacity machines. The fact that it’s also equipped with NTP tracks from Entrack ensures even greater reliability,” says Rikhard.

With the new undercarriage and the final adjustments in place, the XCMG XE270 is ready to go into production.

For Snabbschakt, the electric excavator thus represents a concrete step toward a more electrified and sustainable fleet of machinery.
