Enova Funding 2026
Support for Electric Construction Equipment
Should the company invest in an electric excavator, wheel loader, dump truck, or other zero-emission construction machine? Through Enova, Norwegian companies can receive support to cover part of the additional cost of choosing a zero-emission machine over a diesel alternative.
In 2026, the grant may cover up to 60% of the additional costs, with a maximum of 5 million kroner per project.
Elvate helps you find the right machine and the documentation you need to apply, and assists you in determining which level of support will make your application as competitive as possible.
How much Enova funding can you receive?
Enova can cover up to 60% of the additional cost of choosing a zero-emission construction machine over a comparable diesel machine. The maximum grant is 5 million kroner per project.
The subsidy is calculated based on the difference in cost between the zero-emission vehicle and a comparable diesel alternative.
However, this does not mean that it is always best to apply for the maximum grant amount. Enova allocates the funds through a competitive process among the applications, and the applications are ranked based on how much funding is requested in relation to the estimated emissions reduction.
Which machines are eligible for Enova funding from Elvate?
Among other things, Enova is offering support for electric:
At Elvate, all of our machines meet the following criteria:
To qualify, the machine must, among other things, have a curb weight of at least 2 metric tons and a rated engine power of at least 15 kW. The machine must be used on construction and civil engineering sites. Machines used primarily for routine operation and maintenance are not covered by the program.
At Elvate, you'll find electric construction equipment that may qualify for Enova funding, provided that the program's requirements are met.

How the grant application competes
Enova prioritizes projects that yield the greatest reduction in emissions per krona of funding.
Each application is assigned a ranking score:
Funding requested ÷ estimated CO₂ reduction = ranking score
Example:
If you apply for 800,000 kroner and the machine results in an estimated emissions reduction of 30,000 kg of CO₂ equivalents, the ranking score will be:
800,000 / 30,000 = 26.67 SEK per kg of CO₂
The lower the amount of support you apply for in relation to the emissions reduction, the better your ranking score will be.
The threshold for which applications receive funding is determined after each application round. It therefore depends on how many applicants there are, how much funding they are requesting, and how large Enova’s available budget is.
How much should you apply for?
The maximum grant amount is not necessarily the same as the best application.
A higher grant amount can make the investment more attractive, but it also results in a higher ranking score. Therefore, it’s a matter of finding a good balance between the funding you need and the competitiveness of your application.
Elvate can help you calculate different subsidy levels before you submit your application, so you can see how the subsidy amount affects both your investment and your ranking score.
How does Enova calculate the emission reduction?
Enova uses a standardized calculation model based, among other things, on the machine's:
Rated Motor Power
Net Weight
Based on this information, an estimated diesel consumption is calculated for a comparable machine. Enova then assumes 1,500 operating hours per year and an emission factor of 2.66 kg of CO₂ equivalents per liter of diesel.
A machine with a higher estimated emission reduction can therefore qualify for a higher requested subsidy amount and still maintain a competitive ranking score.
How to Apply for Enova Funding
The application must be submitted before the investment is made. The documentation must be complete when the application is submitted.

Advantages of Electric Construction Equipment
Electric construction equipment can offer several advantages over diesel-powered equipment:
Lower energy costs – electric operation can reduce energy costs per hour worked.
Less maintenance —electric powertrains have fewer moving parts.
Zero-emission operation —no local exhaust emissions from the machine.
Lower noise levels —an advantage on construction sites in densely populated areas and during indoor work.
Better suited for zero-emission construction sites —electric machines make it easier to meet requirements for zero-emission operations.

Frequently Asked Questions About Enova Grants
Enova can cover up to 60% of the additional cost compared to a diesel alternative, up to a limit of 5 million kroner per project.
How much financial assistance can I receive?
Not necessarily. Applications compete for funding based on the calculated emission reduction. A lower requested funding amount results in a better ranking score and can thus strengthen the application’s competitiveness.
Should I always apply for 60%?
Which electric machines qualify?
Eligible equipment includes excavators, wheel loaders, dump trucks, rollers, dozers, and several other types of construction machinery. The machine must meet Enova’s technical requirements and be intended for use at construction sites.
The ranking score is calculated by dividing the amount of funding you are applying for by Enova’s calculated emission reduction in kilograms of CO₂ equivalents.
A lower score = a stronger application in the competition.
How is the ranking score calculated?
What documentation do I need to apply for Enova funding?
You may attach a quote from a dealer for the electric construction machine and a quote for a comparable diesel machine.
The offer for the electric machine must, among other things, specify the nominal motor power. Enova does not allow peak motor power to be used in the application.
It is important that all required documentation is complete when the application is submitted. Missing information cannot be submitted after the application deadline.
Elvate helps you gather the necessary equipment documentation and quotes so that you are better prepared when it’s time to submit your application.
Can Elvate help with the Enova application?
Yes. We can help you with machine selection, machine documentation, and calculations that make it easier to determine which grant amount is most attractive to apply for.
Ready to invest in an electric construction machine?
Enova grants can help offset the additional cost of choosing electric over diesel. At the same time, applications compete with one another, so determining the correct grant amount can be important.
Elvate helps you choose equipment, prepare documentation, calculate subsidies and ranking scores—and find a charging solution that suits both the equipment and the project.
